Sahyadri Sankalp Society is registered Non-profit organization registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860: Maha. State/Mum/165/2021/G.B.B.S.D. and Public Trust Act, 1950: No.F-77475.

The society was founded with a strong passion to safeguard the sensitive ecosystems of the Sahyadri region. Our journey began with passionate group of ecologists, researchers, and community leaders who recognized the urgent need to protect the unique biodiversity of this area, while ensuring that the local communities could thrive alongside nature.

The Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are known for their rich biodiversity, harboring thousands of species of plants, animals, and birds, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. However, the growing threats of deforestation, climate change, and unsustainable agricultural practices have put these natural wonders at risk.

Driven by a commitment to make a tangible difference, this organization was established to focus on conservation, sustainable development, and community empowerment. From day one, we have worked hand in hand with youth, women and farmers in local villages, educational institutes and government agencies and other stakeholders to create impactful, long-term solutions that benefit both nature and people.

Our dedicated team of conservationists, scientists, and volunteers, all are united by a common vision: to create a future where the Sahyadri region flourishes in its full ecological richness, while its people lead dignified lives through sustainable livelihoods.

Our work has taken us deep into the forests, rocky laterite plateaus, rivers, oceans and across the fields of the Sahyadri, where we continue to restore habitats, protect endangered species, and promote eco-friendly practices. But this is only the beginning. With your support, we can expand our reach, safeguard more species, and uplift more communities.

Join us in our mission to protect the Sahyadri landscape — for today, and for future generations.
