Mr. Sanjeev Aanerao is the Founder President of the Sahyadri Sankalp Society and a renowned environmental conservationist. With over thirty years of dedication to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, Mr. Sanjeev has made significant contributions to protecting the natural heritage of the Western Ghats.
One of Mr. Sanjeev’s notable achievements is his persistent fight to protect the forests of the Konkan region from the coal-making mafias, helping preserve the ecological balance of these crucial habitats. His expertise and commitment to conservation have been recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, which appointed him as an expert member of the study committee formed to propose measures for flood prevention in Chiplun.
Beyond forest conservation, Mr. Sanjeev is actively involved in various social and environmental initiatives, including sustainable tourism, Miyawaki plantation, flood relief efforts, sustainable agriculture, and community health programs. His unwavering dedication to the cause of conservation and sustainable development makes him a vital force behind the Society’s vision and mission.
