Sacred groves are an integral part of our cultural and ecological heritage, serving as sanctuaries for biodiversity and repositories of rare plant species. These ancient groves are protected by local traditions and beliefs, often associated with temples, making them important for both the environment and the community. However, they are now under threat due to deforestation and the renovation of temples, which disturbs their delicate balance.
Our Sacred Groves Conservation project aims to address these challenges by creating awareness among villagers about the importance of preserving these invaluable ecosystems. Through community-based conservation initiatives, we encourage local stakeholders to take an active role in protecting the groves, offering incentives to support their efforts.
Additionally, we conduct studies on the plant diversity and the role of sacred groves in carbon sequestration, highlighting their significance in maintaining ecological balance and contributing to climate mitigation. By combining cultural respect with scientific research, we strive to ensure that sacred groves continue to thrive for generations to come.
